Brief introduction:

Airway management, as an important part of accelerated rehabilitation surgery (ERAS), can be applied in clinical practice to reduce pulmonary complications, reduce the risk of death, readmission rate and hospitalization costs. The clinical application of expert consensus on perioperative airway management in thoracic surgery (2012 edition) [1] and multidisciplinary expert consensus on perioperative airway management (2016 edition) [2] promotes the closer integration of perioperative airway management with ERAS, with more significant clinical effects. Therefore, it is necessary for us to update the 2016 consensus based on clinical practice experience and domestic and foreign research evidence, so as to promote a more reasonable and standardized application of perioperative airway management in clinical practice.
